Wedding Design-Romantic and Moody Wedding at Cape Rey Carlsbad

Directly from our “Wedding Talk” design segment on Instagram: Let’s Explore Keriann and Matt’s Romantic and Moody wedding designed by one of experienced lead planners.

Hi I’m Emma and today we will be diving into Keriann & Matt’s special wedding day at Cape Rey Carlsbad.

From the very first conversation with Keriann and Matt, I sensed that this wedding would be exceptionally memorable. Not only were they the kindest humans, planning from the east coast (where I’m originally from, but they even granted us full creative freedom!

Collaborating with the talented florist, Kirstin at Darlin Floral Co, allowed us to unleash our creativity. We played with a palette of mauves, neutrals, and deep maroons, accentuated by lush greenery. To emphasize the florals, we went for black accents in both stationery and attire, maximizing the romantic and moody wedding design we were aiming to achieve.

Texture took center stage in the wedding vision, shown in the aisle arrangements and even reflected in Keriann’s exquisite lace wedding dress.

I firmly believe in allocating the budget where it makes the most impact which is why we incorporated rented black bar fronts from Adore Folklore as a stunning focal point at cocktail hour.

We couldn’t allow the breathtaking ceremony arch to just be used once; so we repurposed it behind sweetheart table in the ballroom, creating a garden like atmosphere around the couple.

Sweet Blossom’s rentals, including smokey table numbers, black charger plates, black floating frames, and a card box, seamlessly integrated black accents into the overall design.

the image depicts the table top decor for the guest tables. this includes a black charger plate, white napkin, silver flatware, a dusty rose water goblet and lush floral centerpieces lining the center of the tables. the tables are long banquet tables. the table numbers are black acrylic with white writing. candles are sprinkled throughout the table displays as well, create the perfect moody and romantic ambience.

The look was dramatic but playful at the same time and it was such an enjoyable project to be a part of from beginning to end. Keriann and Matt, thank you for putting your trust in us at Sweet Blossom for your special day!
