We are excited to share Mona and Spencer’s July wedding with you! Park Hyatt Aviara was the perfect venue for this elegant and whimsical wedding. The couple used our vendor recommendations, creating a perfect day filled with vendors we love.
Mona and Spencer both went to UCLA for college, but didn’t meet until they started their PHD program. They started becoming close friends the summer after their first year in the program. Mona and Spencer’s were both blind to each other’s feelings for each other. Mona says “her friends knew what was going on before they did.”
Spencer proposed a few years later in Washington D.C next to the Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial. Click the link to read and see their whole proposal story: http://howheasked.com/mona-and-spencer/
This wedding was gorgeous and we are so glad we had a great photographer, Mike Arick, to capture Mona and Spencer’s big day.
The sofreh aghd is a traditional wedding ceremony spread where legal marriage and ceremonial traditions are exchanged and are usually very customary at Persian weddings. The word “sofreh” means “spread” and “aghd” means “ceremony. We couldn’t be happier with how Mona and Spencer’s exemplary Sofreh spread by Afsaneh Sargordan turned out!
Mona and Spencer skipped cocktail hour so that they could preview the ballroom and practice their choreographed First Dance to Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”.
We can’t get enough of the hora dance pictures! Such a fun way to incorporate Jewish traditions into their wedding.
Mona and Spencer ended their night with a newlywed sparkler send off. We love how these photos turned out!
We couldn’t be happier with how all the details turned out for this wedding! Thank you to all of the awesome vendors that helped make this day perfect. We wish Mona and Spencer a lifetime of love and happiness.
