From the start, we loved Lisa and Julio because of their unique love story. Lisa and Julio first saw each other on Christmas day in a little cafe. Little did Lisa know, that Julio was from England and was on vacation in California. Lisa left the cafe without talking to Julio. However, her brother stepped in and left Lisa’s number on Julio’s (rental) car windshield,without her knowing. That was the day their love story started, and they have been head over heels for each other ever since.
Lisa and Julio’s wedding had so many unique personal elements that made their day extra special. We loved all the culture the wedding had to offer. Julio had many friends and family fly over 5,000 miles, from England to California, to join their special day. Lisa comes from a Greek family and had relatives that made delicious, homemade Greek pastries for the wedding. Lisa and Julio held their ceremony at the St. Spryridon Greek Orthodox Church, which is the Greek church her family is apart of and her father is the priest at. Her father walked her down the aisle and proceeded to officiate the wedding, making her ceremony extra personal and tear jerking.
We had worked with many of the vendors Lisa and Julio chose, and were excited to see their finished work on the big day. Their wedding was our 8th wedding at Estancia La Jolla this year! Each wedding we have done at Estancia has proven to be unique from the rest, which keeps us on our toes! Scott, with Brilliant Event Lighting, created a beautiful white draping behind the head table. Along with the uplights, all his work turned out flawless. Emily, with Urban Garden Florals, blew us away with her floral arrangements. We loved the fresh summer colors and the little pops of succulents that were in the bouquets.We are so grateful Half Full Photography did amazing work capturing all this day had to offer!
Ashley, with Ashley Fierro makeup, did perfect wedding day makeup for Lisa.
Katie Heureux gave Lisa a stunning half up, half down hair style, showing off her beautiful long blonde hair. She looked absolutely stunning!
The bridesmaids robes matched perfectly with the weddings color scheme! Can’t get enough of these cute bridesmaid robes!
This bouquet was luscious with pops of bright refreshing colors! Urban Garden Florals could not have done a better job!
How adorable are Julio and his groomsmen’s matching socks? We loved this personal touch of showing the unity of Lisa and Julio’s heritage with socks.
Julio got all of his groomsmen customized matching wallets, which we think is a clever gift that can be used everyday!
Some of Julio’s groomsmen were from England and some were from the States. Together they were a lively, comical group with great energy on the wedding day!
All of Lisa’s bridesmaids looked flawless! We can’t get enough of the blush bridesmaid dresses.
We love the art and beauty the St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church has to offer! Such a colorful, vibrant venue for a ceremony.
We loved learning more about the traditions of the Greek Orthodox church for this wedding.

Lisa had been trying to convince Julio to get converse ever since he moved to the United States. Lisa had given our staff sparkly sandals to change into after the ceremony. However, Julio surprised Lisa with white converse with her new name engraved on them. Adorable!
The gold chiavari chairs could not have been a more perfect decision for this color scheme! We loved the alternating high and low vases making the room look well laid out, even and elegant.
Instead of table numbers, Lisa and Julio made their tables names of all the favorite places they have been together.
Lisa and Julio’s grand entrance was thoroughly entertaining. Coupled members of the bridal party entered in dancing with abundant energy and created a victory tunnel for Lisa and Julio’s coordinated grand entrance dance!
Lisa and her fathers close relationship became even more apparent by their cute father/daughter dance they coordinated!
“Greek pastries lovingly made by friends and family” It is always extra special and more delicious when the desserts are homemade by friends and family.
We are head over heals with the floral arrangement on their white cake! Twiggs Bakery never disappoints with their cakes!
We not only love this picture because Julio and Lisa look like they are enjoying theirselves on the dance floor, but also because you can see the beautiful white draping behind the head table that Brilliant Event Lighting created.
Lisa and Julio chose cracker snaps for their party favors. In England, cracker snaps are popular on Christmas, which was the day Julio and Lisa met. Inside each cracker snap were crowns and a note from Lisa and Julio to their guests. We had never seen this favor before, and found it to be the perfect personal touch. Also made for cute decor on everyone’s napkin.
Last, but not least, our favorite, the wedding video which captures the day perfectly. It is beautifully done by Black Shutter Media.
We enjoyed every minute of Lisa and Julio’s wedding and couldn’t have been more happy with how everything turned out. Lisa and Julio were the sweetest couple and had great positive energy throughout their whole wedding day. Not to mention, they had amazing dance moves. They were the life of the party, and it was obvious they are truly in love with a bright future ahead for them.
Congrats Lisa and Julio! We wish you a lifetime of happiness and love!
