Shannon and Victor's wedding was a very memorable day for us in many ways. They got married in January, the only day in the whole month that was scheduled to rain…with an all outdoor wedding (ceremony and rehearsal) at Levyland Estate! As with any wedding, we had a backup plan just in case it was forecasted to rain. (Luckily, in San Diego we don't have to deal with too many of these days, but this was one of those occasions that we had to think about Plan B.)
On their wedding day, it rained the whole morning with heavy winds. By 11am, during our set up, it continued to rain, but lightly. Unfortunately, we had to make the executive decision to move the ceremony into part of the garage area with Shannon and Victor and their bridal party standing outside of the garage (so it would look nice for pictures). But just in case it kept raining, we could easily move them into the garage as well with their guests. We didn't want to have to do this because we knew it would affect their photos, but we knew we had to have a back up plan just in case the rain didn't stop. Trust me, we were looking up the weather report minute by minute that day! 🙂 Unfortunately (or fortunately) the rain stopped right before the ceremony started and it didn't rain again the rest of the evening. It actually turned out to be a beautiful day after the rain passed (as you can see in the photos below), and the wedding was just perfect! In fact, Patty from Petula Pea Photography did such a great job on the photos that you can't even tell their guests were inside the garage.
Another element that we just loved from their wedding was their ceremony unity tie; they released monarch butterflies (see the photos below – it was so neat)! We also loved the wishing tree idea for a guest sign in book decorated by Urban Garden Floral and Event Design. And they attached escort cards to succulents to give away as favors, which was a brilliant idea and cost effective. There were so many details that we loved from this wedding! And Shannon and Victor were so much fun to work with! Congratulations to the both of you! We wish you many years of happiness and love!
